Grateful For Those That Give Us Everything

What are you thankful for this year?

I love Thanksgiving. It’s generally low-key, full of good food, and amazing company. It is also an opportunity to pause and consider what you are really thankful for.

Included in most folks’ “top 5 things I am thankful for” list is. . . . family. As it should be, right? Family brings us all the feels - like laughs, joys, tears, frustration, and a sense of belonging. Family is the one thing that we all protect, good or bad. This is why now is the time to create a plan for those that you love in the event that the unexpected occurs.

What is creating a plan?

An estate plan is way more than just a set of documents. It’s more than just transferring your wealth to your beneficiaries. Like, really, what if something did happen to you? Who would your loved ones rely on for support and guidance? What if you weren’t there to provide for them?

Without a full plan in place, minor children could be left at risk, as well as close relatives who depend on you.  A carefully designed estate plan allows you to provide for loved ones, protect your legacy, and save your assets from the government.

No two plans are the same.

Every person, family, situation, and dynamic is different, which is why your plan will be too. You should never rely on a boilerplate set of documents to protect your family in times of crisis because there’s so much more than just documents to a comprehensive plan. An experienced estate planning attorney will discuss your specific family situation and needs to tailor a plan that will work for your loved ones the way you want it to work when the time comes. Remember, no one is getting out of here alive (hahaha)!  What better way to show your gratitude this holiday than by designing a plan that protects the people that matter most?

GIVE THANKS!
